MAPSS is a Private Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Company located in Bakersfield, California, Providing Assessment and Treatment Services to Individuals with Autism and Other Developmental and Behavioral Disabilities
We believe in compassionate care. Our ultimate goal is to help clients overcome challenging behaviors and improve essential skills using ABA approaches within their life. Highlighting collaboration and partnership as a catalyst for teamwork and consistency assists with healthy and positive growth and development.
Emphasis on using evidenced-based behavioral applications within home, school, clinical, or community settings. Establishing a clinical partnership is just as important as our well-trained professionals.
MAPSS bridges the gap by addressing target areas of concern, overcoming challenges, assisting in quality of life and learning, building upon social skills, and addressing other socially significant challenges to the person and their family.
MAPSS begins services with an informative and individualized assessment at your home, your child's school, at MAPSS, or at the location best suited to their needs before the intervention starts. This includes interviewing, reviewing records, direct observation, analysis of information, and a final assessment report. We help determine target goals and treatment recommendations based on the assessment results. The assessment centers on the person's behavioral concerns, socialization, functional skills, and parenting concerns critical to their and their family’s needs. We work with you to determine an appropriate way to carry out the intervention plan because a partnership for intervention planning is needed for a successful ABA program.
ABA intervention means we address behavioral strengths, needs, and developmental growth based on the assessment and ABA intervention plan. MAPSS provides services for early learners (18 months to 4 years old), school-aged children (5 years to 12 years old), teenagers (13 years to 17 years old), and Adults (18 years or older). We provide intervention services in various settings (e.g., in-home, in-school, at MAPSS (limited), residential facilities/ homes, and intervention-related settings). This includes parent training and family support. Compassionate care in intervention means a collaborative and partnership approach with families and professionals is necessary to achieve success with any program.
Our ABA consultation and training model is excellent for already-developed and existing programs, non-profit agencies and schools, private companies, public schools (school districts), private institutions, interest-related groups, and professionals who seek first-time to advanced ABA-skills training. This includes direct observation of staff with a student and performance monitoring and feedback to evaluate staff competency levels. We provide future recommendations for further professional development along with other additional resources. With several training models, we use an individual (e.g., skills training, coaching) and group-based method (e.g., workshops, lectures) for our consultation approach provided by one of our ABA clinicians.
